  • Sunday, October 23, 2022, 2:00 p.m.: Inaugural Nashville AAPI Writers Meet-Up at the Porch HQ. We will eat snacks, get to know each other, do a short creative writing exercise with the option to share, and talk openly about our dreams and concerns as AAPI writers in Nashville. Free with registration required.
  • Thursday, September 22, 2022, 6:30 p.m.: Malaka Gharib, author of It Won’t Always Be Like This, in conversation with Yurina Yoshikawa at Parnassus Bookstore. Free but registration required.
  • August 22, 2022: Guest on Hana Lee’s podcast “Project Between” about Third Culture Kids. Available wherever you get your podcasts, including Spotify (link here). I had a great time chatting with Hana about the TCK experience, Yoko Tawada, Doraemon, etc.
  • May 24, 2022, 6 p.m. CT: Reading Between the Lines with JAST, via Zoom. I will lead and moderate a discussion around Scattered All Over the Earth by Yoko Tawada. Register here.
  • March 3, 2022, 6 p.m. CT: Reading Between the Lines with JAST (Japan-America Society of Tennessee), via Zoom. For our inaugural book club event, I will lead and moderate a discussion around How Do You Live by Genzaburo Yoshino.
  • February 10, 2022, 7 p.m. CT: Storytelling for The Bloom Stage (virtual appearance). The Bloom Stage is a quarterly event that brings a blend of storytelling, poetry, music and art to the Murfreesboro stage at Walnut House. The series is produced by Kara J Kemp with assistance from Kory Wells, and this show is co-produced with C. A. Williams. Donations will be accepted at this free performance. Doors open at 6:30 pm and show begins at 7 pm. More info here
